Botulinum toxin injection is the recommended drug for the treatment of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). Using a very fine needle, the doctor injects a small volume of botulinum toxin in the 10-15 places, away from each other by 1 cm, evenly covering the area subjected to treatment. Treatment session takes about 30 minutes.

After injecting a small dose to the skin, the product blocks the action of nerves that supply the glands of external secretion. This prevents the release of sweat. Blockade of nerve endings, under the influence of botulinum toxin, lasts for about 6-12 weeks, after which new nerve endings are formed by replacing the previously blocked. This means that the treatment effect lasts for several months, but eventually disappears.
